Up to a 150 Young kids, Youths, Teens and Elders celebrated the COLOURFUL Indian festival of Holi at Light horse Park in Liverpool on 7th April, the bright Sunday morning.
HSS celebrated the arrival of “Hindu New Year” along with Holi and highlighted the cultural relevance of this day to the assembled Youths and their Families.
This festival of colours SIGNIFIES Happiness and Diversity prevalent amongst any community. It also highlights the victory of the ‘righteousness’ over ‘evil’.
Recognised as the most colourful of India’s festivals, Holi is celebrated around the world with great gusto sharing the message of diversity and fun.
Hon. Laurie Ferguson, Member for Werriwa, & Hon. Paul Lynch, Member for Liverpool, graced the occasion and lauded the festive spirit and appreciated the voluntary work being done by HSS.
Hon. Paul Lynch highlighted the importance of Multiculturalism in Australia and the way it contributes in strengthening the community and the country at large.
Hon. Laurie Ferguson said that it was great to see “HSS run events such as Holi that enrich and enliven our society and reflect the rich diversity of our local area”.
HSS Gen Secretary – Sydney Chapter thanked the Honorary Members , The Liverpool Council for their support and the Volunteers for their contribution in making this event a huge success.
